Susan P. Bloom (1938-2019)

The Horn Book office will be closed this afternoon as we attend the funeral of Susan P. Bloom, Director Emerita of the Center for the Study of Children's Literature at Simmons University. Susan was a great Friend of the Horn Book and a beloved mentor to many of us. She twice served on the Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards committee and was a longtime Horn Book contributor. We will miss her hugely; look for more about this Great Lady of Children's Literature in an upcoming Horn Book Magazine.
