>Betsy Halbrooks was the mainstay of our office for many years, and I'm sorry I never had the chance to meet her. This obit gives a good idea of what she was like, and her own reminiscence of her Horn Book career was published in our 75th anniversary issue.

Editor Emeritus Roger Sutton was editor in chief of The Horn Book, Inc., from 1996-2021. He was previously editor of The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books and a children's and young adult librarian. He received his MA in library science from the University of Chicago in 1982 and a BA from Pitzer College in 1978.

>This is not the same anon but I can say that she was someone whose face when encountered gave one a small jolt of happiness. There was a quiet intelligence always at work. I agree that she will be sorely missed and my condolences to the family should they read this.
