I am a retired elementary rdg. teacher. I just recently discovered Andrew Clements' books in another book called "Great Books for Boys". I started with "Extra Credit" which has such strong characters and ideas. I was sorry when it ended. Now I can't get enough esp. because of the pandemic. I wanted to write the author a letter thanking him so i went to his website and discovered that he died 2 yrs. ago at age 70 (my age). What a strange feeling, but because he has written so many books I realize we will be together in spirit.Posted : Apr 14, 2021 01:17

Such sad news! What a terrific person, a remarkable author, and a wonderful teacher! This is such sad news. I wish his family and friends peace and love. May they know what an impact he had on me and my students.Posted : Dec 06, 2019 01:36
