Women's History Month 2017

March/April 2017 Horn Book MagazineMarch is Women's History Month, and now seems like an especially important time to celebrate the achievements of women and girls. Look for the hashtag #HBWomensHistory17 on Facebook and Twitter and here at hbook.com.

We want to call your attention to the gorgeous cover of the just-published March/April issue of The Horn Book Magazine. The subject is children's publishing legend Charlotte Zolotow (who once caused Roger to quake in his boots); the article is by Charlotte's daughter, Crescent Dragonwagon; and the artist is Hawa Diallo, Charlotte's friend, protégé, and late-in-life lead caregiver. You can read more about Hawa's story at Oprah.com ("Refugee Hawa Diallo Creates Incredible Art"). Great Ladies indeed to kick off Women's History Month.
