So much for your Newbery Medal, etc.

from Publishers Weekly:

"Susan Cooper returns with Ghost Hawk in August; 'it's the best thing she's written since The Dark Is Rising,' said S&S BFYR publisher Justin Chanda."

Yes, he could have meant the series (and the italics indicating book titles are mine, not PW's). But, as Emma Dryden suggests above, you had to go back almost forty years, dude? Harsh. And I'll take King of Shadows over Silver on the Tree any day.

Inane comment, but even if it were the worst thing Susan had written, it would be wonderful to read. I can't wait!

Quite so. I have to assume the reference is to the 5-book sequence . But even so, so much for Susan's brilliant and award-winning KING OF SHADOWS, VICTORY, and other fantastic books she's written since 1976!

Snap! But you know, I think he meant the series as a whole, not the individual title. I'm sure he knows The Grey King won the Newbery....
