Kirkpatrick Hill on Bo at Ballard Creek

In the May/June 2013 Horn Book Magazine, Roger Sutton asked Kirkpatrick Hill about her protagonist's two papas in Bo at Ballard Creek. Read the starred review here.

Roger Sutton: So, are they or aren’t they?

Kirkpatrick Hill: Such partnerships were so ubiquitous when I was a kid that nothing could have been more natural to the story than having Bo’s papas partner up. Of course most partnerships were formed because looking for gold was never-ending killer work, too much for one man. For Arvid and Jack, the work that was too much for one man was raising a baby.
