Five Questions about Five Questions

Live Five - Questions with Roger Sutton

1. What are the Live Five Questions?

Live Five Questions sprang from the "Five Questions for . . . ." feature in Notes from the Horn Book, our monthly e-newsletter. A few ALA's ago, we took this feature live, conducting brief, five-question interviews with authors and illustrators at the Horn Book booth on the exhibit floor.

2. Who will be asked the questions?

The interviewees include the winners of the Newbery, Caldecott, Printz, Coretta Scott King, Edwards, and Sibert awards as well as the creators of some of my favorite Honor Books.

3. Where and when is this happening?

Booth number 2234 at the Anaheim Convention Center, June 23rd and 24th. Each interview runs about fifteen minutes tops, and a complete schedule can be found in the image below as well as on the complete listing of Library Journal, School Library Journal, and Horn Book booth events at ALA.

4. What will the questions be?

Each detainee gets his or her own five questions but I do plan to ask several of them what their favorite ride at Disneyland is. And any suggestions you have are most welcome: either put them in the comments here or send to @RogerReads on Twitter with the hashtag #livefive.

5. Why should I come?

Because we don't get enough chances to hear these authors and illustrators in informal and spontaneous interrogation conversation. Plus, there's a prize! Details below.
