I was always in and out of Peter H. Reynolds's store when I was a kid, but back then — half a century ago! — it was a five-and-dime store situated down the street from St. Mary's, across the way from the movie theater, and around the corner from Dunkin's, thus pretty much at the center of the Dedham kids' universe. But ten years ago Peter and his twin brother Paul turned that storefront into The Blue Bunny, a children's book and toy shop. Shades of John Newbery! I was pleased to go home again to visit The Blue Bunny (named for the signature motif of Dedham Pottery) and talk to Peter about his new book Happy Dreamer, the author-illustrator's first book with Scholastic. Thanks Roger and Peter for the uplifting talk. I, too, was a Blue Bird. And a Dreamer. I can soooo relate. And I love the Amazing, Delightful, Happy Dreamer! Kudos to another delightful book, Peter.Posted : Apr 03, 2017 05:37

Lovely interview, Roger and Peter. Long live the happy dreamers! (By the way, you also sold a copy of the book...which I'll get at my local indie bookstore here in Boulder.)Posted : Mar 31, 2017 09:48

This was such a wonderful and insightful interview. Peter not only produces amazing work but it is sincere and in touch with the things that really matter. That combination is why kids relate so well to his work.Posted : Mar 31, 2017 12:13
