From the Editor - August 2019

Back to SCHOOL? Already? Sheesh. You still have time to take some of our summer reading suggestions* and on Friday we will be bringing you — yup — the back-to-school issue of The Horn Book Herald with recommendations, survival tips, and an interview with Celia C. Pérez about her new book, Strange Birds: A Field Guide to Ruffling Feathers. Go forth and ruffle; go forth and read.

*I've been happily dividing my summer between Ystad and Venice, solving crimes alongside Henning Mankell's Kurt Wallander and Donna Leon's Guido Brunetti, respectively. People who think series books are just for kids should grow up.
