Second-round nominations results!

Sixteen of you responded to our call for nominations this round, and you nominated 22 eligible (more on that in a minute) titles. Thank you!

Our three leaders are:

  • Noodles on a Bicycle by Kyo Mclear, illustrated by Gracey Zhang (6 nominations)

  • Ahoy! by Sophie Blackall (5 nominations)

  • Love Is Hard Work by Dan Paley, illus. by Victoria Tentler-Krylov (5 nominations)

Ahoy! was the leader in our first round, with 7 nominations, so this book is clearly a strong contender. We haven’t covered Noodles on a Bicycle on the blog yet, but fear not! The post is coming. Love Is Hard Work only had one nomination in our first round, so support for that book is growing.

We had five titles nominated that didn’t appear in the first round of nominations: Yaya and the Sea, Chooch Helped, Wings of an Eagle, Desert Song, and Still Life

We received four nominations for Pepper and Me by Beatrice Alemagna, but Alemagna lives in Paris, so the book isn’t eligible. C'est la vie!

Here’s a compilation of all the titles nominated in this round. We have just over a month left before the big announcement!
