Pi Day 2022

It's Pi Day (3.14)! Because we're always in the market for a good book about...pie (yum!), last year we recommended Matt James's Nice Try, Charlie! (Groundwood) (and before that Pie in the Sky, Pie Is for Sharing and Pies from Nowhere), and this year we're serving up three recent books featuring pie: Andy Harkness's Wolfboy (Bloomsbury), Shing Yin Khor's The Legend of Auntie Po (Kokila/Penguin), and Gillian McDunn's Honestly Elliott (Bloomsbury). Or you can explore more mouthwatering reading options with the Guide/Reviews Database subject Pies.

If you'd prefer three recent math-related books instead, we've also got you covered, including one about the life of a notable woman mathematician (as part of our continuing recognition of Women's History Month): We Are One: How the World Adds Up by Susan Hood, illus. by Linda Yan (Candlewick); A Quick History of Math: From Counting Cavemen to Big Data by Clive Gifford, illus. by Michael Young (Wide Eyed/Quarto); and Classified: The Secret Career of Mary Golda Ross, Cherokee Aerospace Engineer by Traci Sorell, illus. by Natasha Donovan (Millbrook). For more books about math, peruse the Guide/Reviews Database subject Mathematics, and for more on Women's History Month click the tag Women's History Month and follow #HBWomensHistoryMonth on Twitter and Facebook.
