May picture book reviews of the week

Bear and Bee by Sergio Ruzzier

On May 6, we posted Elissa Gershowitz's review of Water in the Park: A Book About Water & the Times of the Day by Emily Jenkins, illustrated by Stephanie Graegin. Loosely based on Prospect Park in Brooklyn, this is a book I want to come back to when we start posting for Calling Caldecott contenders.

At the end of the month, we posted Kathleen T. Horning's review of Bear and Bee by Sergio Ruzzier. The art in this book looks so simple that it might not get a lot of Caldecott attention, but look closely and you'll see that it's spot-on for the audience.

Now we are finally caught up with our monthly Review of the Week round-up.
