>In our new podcast, Horn Book designer (and webmaster) Lolly Robinson talks to Lee Kingman Natti: author, editor, and old Horn Book hand. Lee discusses working with Virginia Lee Burton, picture book design and the aesthetic of the Folly Cove designers.

Lee mentions that she first wrote for the Horn Book in 1929, when she won that year's Reading Contest: "for the best set of fifteen book notes on as many well-chosen books, each book note not to be more than 200 words or less than 100--a prize of ten books." And I must say I like the then nine-year-old Lee's straightforward approach to book reviewing: "I like the book because of the horrible things the Bastables did."

Editor Emeritus Roger Sutton was editor in chief of The Horn Book, Inc., from 1996-2021. He was previously editor of The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books and a children's and young adult librarian. He received his MA in library science from the University of Chicago in 1982 and a BA from Pitzer College in 1978.

>Thank you, Lolly. I figured it had something to do with the XML feed. I like to have the subscribed via iTunes version b/c that way it will go to my podcasts library vs the music library. I like to listen again to them sometimes. If only they came out more often....

In the meantime, you can get to the podcast through FeedBurner (direct address for our updated XML is feed://feeds.feedburner.com/HornBookPodcast). And of course you can listen on the website, too.

>Thanks, carterbham. iTunes seems to be experiencing delays no matter how many times we ping them to update our info. You might want to try back in the morning. I'm not sure why it's telling you we're not valid, though, since I'm not getting any error messages. I'd love to hear if anyone else is getting the same message -- and what platform and browser you're using. Thanks.
