Boston Globe-Horn Book announcements

This is the announcement of the announcement. If you're at BEA this week, I hope you will join us in the Librarians' Lounge (booth number 757) on Saturday at 1:00PM, when Rebecca Stead and I will reveal the winners of the 2013 Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards. Yep, good times ahead with Anne Hathaway and James Franco, still not speaking to Seth MacFarlane but happy to present this even more illustrious award.

If Oscar permits. Ms. Hathaway AKA Rebecca Stead reports that she is currently having trouble wresting her Oscar from her lap and thus is unable to eat, much less leave her apartment. At left: Oscar, with Rebecca's trophy bowl for her 2010 BGHB winner When You Reach Me.

He was previously editor of The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books and a children's and young adult librarian. He received his MA in library science from the University of Chicago in 1982 and a BA from Pitzer College in 1978.
