Boston Book Festival 2018 is this weekend — and looking for volunteers!

Join The Horn Book on Saturday, October 13, for the Boston Book Festival! We'll be at Copley Square in booth 51, with stickers (Roger's face!), bookmarks, handouts, and a display of the 2018 Boston Globe–Horn Book Award–winning books; there are two additional festival sites — and lots of great events — in East Boston and Roxbury (support our friends at the Frugal Bookstore).

Kate DiCamillo is delivering the Kids' Keynote; Horn Book contributor and 2019 BGHB judge Kim Parker is hosting the YA Keynote; Horn Book reviewers Monique Harris, Stacy Collins, and Sarah Rettger, along with many Simmons colleagues, are moderating panels; Wee the People is performing and Francie Latour is doing a storytime for her new picture book Auntie Luce's Talking Paintings. Plus, there's Roger's favorite, the grilled cheese truck, and so many great authors, illustrators, and more. As always, thanks to the Boston Globe for sponsoring our booth.

Longtime Horn Book reviewer and Boston Book Festival Deputy Director Norah Piehl is seeking volunteers for the festivities: "We're looking for people who can work as few as four hours or as much as all day. We'll give you free books, free lunch, a free tote bag and shirt...Thanks for considering — it really is a fun and worthwhile way to spend a Saturday!" Email Norah ASAP at: norah@bostonbookfest.org
